Title: Stage Invader (Wishbone Mysteries)
Author: Vivian Sathre
Genre: Mystery
Source: Bookmooch
Rating: 5 out of 5
I’ve yet to be disappointed by any of the wishbone series of books. This one is my favorite so far. It start’s out with them working on a student run play, when accidents begin happening. While the overall plot is fairly predictable, the saboteur wasn’t. It makes for a quick and fun read.
Title: The Good Dog
Author: AVI
Genre: Adventure, Fantasy.
Source: Purchased at a Charity Shop
Rating: 4 out of 5
What struck me the most is that it doesn’t feel like a fantasy book. It feels exactly like something that could happen in real life, up until almost the end.
Definitely not your usual dog book. It’s a fun, quick, easy read, and all without a depressing ending. The personalities seem to fit the breeds that they’re written for, without getting clique. This is definitely going on my recommend list of dog stories.

Title: The Maltese Falcon
Author: Marshall Hammett
Genre: Mystery/Suspense
Source: Bookmooch
Rating: 2 out of 5
Yet another classic that I’m horribly disappointed in. I ended up skimming the last half of the book simply because I didn’t like it enough to go on reading at my normal speed.
The story would have been ok, I don’t mind a book being predictable if it draws me in enough. The problem is the character of Sam Spade himself. I dislike his personality to the point it distracts me from the story, he feels slick, dirty, and down right nasty.
I don’t really regret reading it, but I think I’ll be far more careful when selecting a private eye novel to read again.

Title: Peter Pan ( also titled Peter and Wendy)
Author: J.M. Berrie
Source: I don’t remember.
Somehow I ended up with two copies of it. One of them the Disney version, and the other an illustrated classic’s version. The story was a quick read, and the story somewhat entertaining. A good way to pass a couple of hours.
Title: The Mutt in the Iron Muzzle
By: Michael Jan Friedman, Alexandre Dumas, Rick Duffield
Source: Mooched from Bookmooch
Very well written, and sticks very close to the episode of the TV series. The book turns out to be quite a page turner, and I ended up reading it in one sitting.
Title: Salty Dog
Author: Brad Strickland, Rick Duffield
Source: Mooched from Bookmooch
I didn’t get to enjoy this story as much as I did the other one. I remembered the episode vividly and I found it distracting. Excellent writing as usual, an a very good book to introduce someone to Treasure Island.
